BREAKING NEWS FROM BIR CAMP KUMBA
Some 12 victims kidnapped and held hostage by the Ambazonia Terrorist Ayekeh and later liberated by elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) of the Sixth Military Battalion of the South West region #Cameroon, have been reunited with their families. The former hostages were reunited with their families at the BIR base at #Mambanda, #Kumba , on Wednesday October 14, after they were rescued yesterday and ferried by Helicopter from Bessali Lebialem to Kumba.
The former hostages were rescued from captivity at Bessali, Wabane sub division, Lebialem division of the South West region, after they were kidnapped by Ambazonian terrorists at Tali 1 and Tali 2 villages in Upper Banyang sub division, #Manyu Division of the South West region and taken to Bessali, where they spent six nights before being liberated on Tuesday October 13.
They spent a night at the military Base in Kumba where they received medical attention. The freed hostages thanked the military and the government of Cameroon for the intervention. They said, during their captivity, they were severely tortured and were to be killed on the day of their liberation for failing to provide the sum of 1.6 million FCFA each for the purchase of guns, as demanded by their captors.
According to the freed hostages, their problem started when they were asked to contribute to the ambaboys, and they couldn’t or wouldn’t. The Amba boys returned and torture them, so the youths in their community captured and tied a certain Commander of the Ambazonian gang, Orock Valentine a.k.a MBULA. After Mbula was captured, the Cameroon military was alerted, but unfortunately, because of bad roads to the area, the military did not come on time while an intervention from other Amba terrorist gangs from Webane came and released Mbula.
A few days later, the villagers, 20 in total, were kidnapped and ferried to Wabane. They were accused of “contravening the so-called laws of Ambaland” for attempting to kill their terrorist Commander. Among those liberated is a certain Pa Fombele Paul. The freed hostages showed their bodies and hands marked with scars from the torture they received at the hands of the Amba terrorists.
