Where to enjoy Seafood in Yaounde – Istanbul Restaurant and Cafe – Bastos. If you enjoy seafood as much as I do, then I recommend you try this restaurant, and order the Gambas.. See pictures below.
We went there on 08 Mar 2022 to celebrate Women’s Day. Please see pictures, they paint a better picture. Gambas sells for around 13,000 Frs CFA = ($25 USD) – Comes with option of potato fries, fried plantains or rice.
The service at this restaurant is usually Average, (Nothing spectacular) but the food is decent. The customer service was below average on the International Women’s day, probably because the staff were overworked and exhausted. I can only assume, because it was a very busy day at the restaurant.
How to find the restaurant.
It is located in Bastos, near Carrefour Bastos, opposite Suita Hotel. It is about 100 meters from Black&White Bar, a stone throw from Neptue petrol station. We did not reserve seats, we just walked in. This is my fifth time visiting this restaurant since August 2019.
My Recommendations to the Restaurant.
You need to improve on your customer service. Your staff need to smile more, be more friendly and engaging with the customers. Also, Some of them were a bit overworked, sweaty, and I could get a whiff of some body odour, which is VERY offensive and disgusting especially for a restaurant. You need to do something about it.
I decided NOT to give a tip because I was not very pleased with the service received. The service was Average.
