A corrupt, illegitimate impostor is replaced by a nobody who himself is impeached before anyone knows his name. The impeachment managers are themselves frauds in their own rights.
What we need is a common sense solution to our common problem-that of assimilation.
Cameroon will never be divided. There will never be a separate nation for the peoples of the NW and SW regions. It simply will never happen.
Federalism, on the other hand is not only plausible, there is a high likelihood it will happen within years.
Federalists have always known the argument to separation was fraught with lies, sweat and blood. For this honesty, we were labeled sellouts.
Following the force of our arguments based on facts like the famous AAG Numbers Don’t Lie (c) series, the regime was cornered. President Paul Biya was on the fence. He started making concessions:-
- For the first time in our history, all Divisional officers in the SW and NW regions were anglophones in 2018. It has since changed.
- Two additional Anglophone SDOs were appointed for a total of 6. Still too low.
- The ministries of Education and Territorial Administration were given to Anglophones for the first time in our history. *Paradoxically, Paul Atanga Nji and Nalova Lyonga became incidental beneficiaries of a fight they oppose*. How convenient?
- He sent out envoys all over the world to negotiate.
Instead of building on these achievements, separatists preferred the *argument of force*. They hardened their stance and turned against federalists and their own people:-
- Kidnapping for ransome.
- setting schools on fire.
- killing school children
- chopping off heads and other body parts.
The result was the loss of support from the people and the international community. Donations dried out and the hypocrisy was unveiled.
It’s hard for a house built on sand to withstand the wind.
I feel bad for separatists. I really do because they are our brothers and sisters but their dream will never come to be.
Because of their foolhardiness:-
- Lives lost will never come back.
- The destroyed economy will take decades to build back.
- Only a fraction of the displaced people will return.
- The trauma will stay forever.
- Half a million Anglophones have now become Francophones.
Is there a better definition of follly?
How did we snatch defeat from the mouth of victory?
I put the blame squarely and unconditionally on Separatist terrorists.
They are worse than the Biya regime.
