The Senior Divisional Officer for Momo, with grief, informs public opinion that on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 about 5:00 p.m, a group of armed terrorists invaded #Guzang Village in Batibo Sub-Division and kidnapped two civilians from their houses who were later summarily executed, through random gun-firing at the Guzang Market Square, in front of a crowd of helpless onlookers.
The Two persons killed are: Mbanyamsig Hansel Ndi, younger brother to the Fon of Guzang Village and Aburo Cletus Njohgo, a petit trader at the Guzang market. The corps of Mbanyamsig Hansel Ndi is currently at the Bali Mortuary while Aburo Cletus’ family buried him the same yesterday in Guzang village.
On behalf of the Government, the Senior Divisional Officer for Momo, expresses his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Momo population. In these sad circumstances, the Senior Divisional Officer for Momo, reprehends in strong terms, this barbaric and unacceptable act of violence, perpetrated in utter violation of human rights, on unarmed innocent civilians. He hereby re-assures the population and public opinion that judicial investigations has been opened and the Defence and Security Forces are currently on a diligent search to track-down and present the authors of the heinous act to the competent courts to face the full wrath of the law.
The Senior Divisional Officer further calls upon the population who are subject to constant torture by these bands of outlaws, to fully collaborate with the Administrative Authorities, Defence and Security Forces in a bid to fish-out and bring to book, all these criminals terrorising our villages.
Lastly, the Senior Divisional Officer for #Momo, once more, re-iterates that the Olive branch stretched out by President of the Republic H.E Paul Biya is still open to the few misguided youths still remaining in the bushes who took up arms against the State, to surrender and integrate the DDR Centres created for their rehabilitation and re-integration into the society./
