PARLIAMENTARY MISSION – Hon. Njingum Leads NW MPs to Inspect #Bamenda LPG Plant

A delegation of Members of Parliament (MPs) from the North West region, led by Hon. Njingum Musa, member of parliament for #Ngoketunja, visited the Bamenda Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Plant construction site to assess the progress of the ongoing project. The MPs, who represent various constituencies of the region, were on-site to witness firsthand the advancement of a vital energy project that promises to enhance gas supply in the region.

Hon. Njingum Musa, speaking at the visit, emphasized the significance of the inspection. “We were present during the laying of the foundation stone, and it is only natural that we return to assess the progress of this crucial project,” he said. He further revealed that the construction of the plant has reached an impressive 66% completion. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the pace of the work and praised the project team for their efforts.

Hon. Manju Nestus Fru, member of parliament for Mezam Central constituency, which is hosting the project, lauded the plant’s manager for the remarkable progress. He expressed gratitude to President Paul Biya for spearheading the initiative, which he said will provide a significant boost to youth employment in the region. “This project is a testament to the president’s commitment to improving livelihoods. It will not only meet the energy demands of the North West but also create job opportunities for our youth,” Hon. Manju Nestus Fru said.

Other MPs present at the site included Hon. Banmi Emmanuel, Hon. Ngala Gerard, Hon. Wallang Richard, Hon. Mbongnyor Naomi, Hon. Kumase Simon, Hon. Kum John Nji, Hon. Injoh Prodencia, Hon. Lukong Fostine, Hon. Kwei Andrew Mngo, and several other distinguished parliamentarians.

The Bamenda LPG Plant is expected to play a critical role in addressing the growing demand for cooking gas in the North West region, reducing dependency on other regions, and creating job opportunities. The MPs reiterated their commitment to ensuring that the project is completed on time and serves the energy needs of the people.

As construction progresses, the delegation vowed to continue monitoring the project, ensuring its timely delivery for the benefit of the population.
