When you get your ID or any important document, the FIRST thing you should do is take a picture of it on your smart phone, so that you have an electronic copy.. Second thing you must do is photocopy the document and keep the photocopies safe and separate from the original copy so that you can always use the photo copy to make the new documents.

To make lost documents or renew your ID card, you WILL need the photocopy of the old card you lost.

LOST Birth Certificate

If you lost your Birth certificate, make another one AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! You should make your Birth certificates at your local council where you were born, because it is easier to verify your birth, and your parents etc.. The council, (Mayors) are responsible for registering births and marriages etc. But if you no longer live in your local council where you were born, and you cannot travel back there, then you can make a new birth certificate in your new local council where you live, but the process will take longer.

With the new law you can establish your birth certificate anywhere you are resident and civil status secretary upon an authorisation from your place of residence will put your transcribe the information on your old birth certificate.. You see, it helps if you have a photograph or photocopy of your old birth certificate.

If you are doing a birth certificate in a new town, this process takes longer because you may need to provide supporting documents and further evidence to the claims you put down on the new document.. That’s why a photocopy of your old birth certificate is very important.

I hope this information helps. 27 March 2025.

This is the kind of information we should be teaching our children in school, and not how to label a frog or grasshopper or Eauropean History. We should learn how to grow kassava and how to process Garri and kumkum..

Imagine when I was in Class 7 in primary school, around 1995 we were learning about the British Islands.. 🤦🏽‍♂️ Na who really curse black people? Why is a 12 year old farmer’s son in Momo learning about temperatures in London and seasons in eaurope? 😭😭 They even told us about their parliament.. 😭😭 But I did not even know where Yaounde is, or Cameroon parliament 🤨😔

These are the kind of things every Cameroonian should learn. How to make your ID card, How to reduce corruption, How to be a good citizen, Learn our true history, Etc etc..
