The Second deputy mayor for #Bamenda 2 Madam Joko Frida who was kidnapped by the Ambazonia Defence Forces (ADF) terrorist group, was tortured, and brought to Nchouboh Junction in Bamenda, where she was summarily executed on the morning on Monday 28 Oct 2024.
Lucas Cho Ayaba, Benedict Kuah, Asu Lucas, Julius Nyih, Larry Ayamba, Ndong Emmanuel Ngong etc are responsible for this terrorist gang called ADF. Ngong Emmanuel Ndong who was the so-called Defence chief in charge of the ADF, instructed the terrorists to kill civilians, especially under the pretext of “Treason”. He said anyone who worked with the Cameroon Government has committed treason, and in his own words, “the punishment for treason is death”.
The Guardian Post Daily, Edition N° 3274, Tuesday October 29, 2024 called this terror attack Despicable, senseless! On their front page.
The SDO of Mezam put out a PRESS RELEASE on 28 Oct 2024 that reads..
The Senior Divisional Officer for MEZAM dishearteningly informs public opinion that in the early hours of October 28, 2024, the lifeless body of Mrs. JOKO Frida, 2nd Deputy Mayor of the of the BAMENDA II Sub-divisional Council was found in the NCHUOBO neighbourhood, after she was kidnapped by armed terrorists on the 26th October 2024 about 5.30 pm in her residence at SAVANNAH STREET.
In this tragic circumstance, the Senior Divisional Officer for MEZAM on behalf of the Government expresses his sincere condolences to the bereaved family as well as to the staff of the council authorities so hardly affected. He also strongly condemns this atrocity committed against an unarmed civilian, a valiant lady who was serving her community and country with a lot of patriotism and devotion The Senior Divisional Officer for MEZAM takes as a witness, the national and international community on the repeated barbaric acts of these heartless criminals in their unequivocal logic of systematic violation of human rights and gender-based violence, while reassuring that clear instructions have been given to the competent State services for the purpose of searching and bringing before the judicial authorities the perpetrators of this heinous assassination.
Finally, the Senior Divisional Officer for MEZAM once again, calls on public officials to be vigilant and invites population to actively collaborate with the administrative authorities as well as the defence and security forces in order to prevent all forms of attempts to social cohesion and peace in his territory of command. /- 28 Oct 2024

STATEMENT ON THE BRUTAL ASSASSINATION OF MRS. JOKO FRIDA. 2ND DEPUTY MAYOR OF THE BAMENDA II SUB-DIVISION, MEZAM DIVISION OF THE NORTH WEST REGION
The Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA) has received with shock the kidnap and subsequent assassination of Mrs Joko Frida, the 2nd Deputy Mayor of the Bamenda II Council, Mezam Division of the North West region of Cameroon. Mrs Joko was equally the President of WCPDM- the women wing of the ruling Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement (CPDM) political party for Mezam 1 B Section.
On the 26th October 2024, Mrs Joko was kidnapped by yet to be identified gun-men suspected to be separatist fighters. This incident happened at about 5:30 pm in her Savannah Street Residence in Old Town Bamenda shortly after she returned from the Documentary screening about President Paul Biya’s Legacy which took place at Upstation Bamenda. She was taken into an unknown destination by these arned men in a vehicle.
On Monday 27 October 2024, her mortal remains were diseovered at Nehuobo Junction in the Bamenda II Sub-Division as confirmed by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Divsion, Mr Simon Emile Mooh in a Press Release dated the 28th October 2024. Her mortal remains were transported to the Bamenda Regional Hospital pending funeral arrangements. As at the time of this statement, no group had claimed responsibility for this barbaric act. Accusing fingers are being pointed at Separatist Fighters in the area since they had threatened to crack down on anyone who attends the projection of the above-mentioned documentary.
CHRDA extends her sincere condolences to the bereaved family and to the population of the Bamenda II constituency as a whole.
CHRDA condemns in very strong terms the barbaric and cruel execution Mrs. Joko, an unarmed civilian. There is no justification for such barbarism, and this constitutes a breach of the existing National and International Human Rights/Humanitarian laws. CHRDA further urges both parties to the conflict in the North West and South West regions to refrain from attacking unarmed civilians.
CHRDA enjoins the authorities in the area to carry out a prompt, independent, and transparent investigation and bring the perpetrators to book.
