Who has bewitched you, amba “Shit-No-Wipe-Lass” (“SNWL”) terrorists, not to accept President Biya’s momentous generous blanket amnesty to you all? If I were you. given the barbaric atrocities you have committed, and the penalties for such bestial acts as contained in the Cameroonian Law on the Suppression of Acts of Terrorism in Cameroon (Law No. 2014/028 of 23 December 2014), I will drop my gun and go to a DDR Centre immediately. According Section 2 of Law No. 2014/028 of 23 December 2014, you all amba “SNWL” terrorists shall be sentenced to death, DEATH PENALTY. However, President Biya, have out of the goodness of his heart granted you all blanket amnesty. Yes, the most generous in history!!!

The word amnesty comes from the Greek word amnēsia, which means a “partial or total loss of memory”. In this article, amnesia means total loss of memory. Thus, amnesty could be defined as an official order by government that allows a group of criminals to go free. In criminal law, an amnesty is a sovereign act of oblivion or forgetfulness for past acts, granted by a government to persons who have been guilty of crimes. Amnesty is granted usually for political crimes against the state, such as terrorism, treason, or rebellion. A sovereign act of oblivion or forgetfulness means the atrocities committed have been forgiven and erased from one’s history, you do not have a criminal record or a “rap sheet” for those crimes (your criminal record has been obliterated). That all the beheadings; killings; raping of young girls, mothers, and old women; chopping off CDC labourers’ limbs; etc will not count against you. This is the golden opportunity President Biya has made available to the amba “SNWL” terrorists. What a kind gesture! What a “sweet deal” not to tend down!

However, amnesty is generally considered incompatible with international law. Thus, international law rejects blanket amnesty. And since 2004, the United Nations (UN) has taken the position that amnesties must not be granted to perpetrators (terrorists like amba “SNWL” terrorists) of horrid atrocities such as torture, executions, rape, etc. Yet, President Biya, with a fatherly heart for the poorly educated and diaspora-brainwashed terrorists, went ahead to grant a blanket amnesty to all amba “SNWL” terrorists.

President Biya would have chosen to pardon the amba “SNWL” terrorists, but he decided on amnesty, and the clarion call for amnesty came from your very own MKPD. So, what is the difference between amnesty and pardon? Amnesty declares innocence or abolishes the crime whilst pardon simply relieves from punishment. President Biya did more than what President Andrew Johnson did in 1865 at the end of the American Civil War. At the end of the American Civil War in 1865, President Andrew Johnson granted full pardons to all former Confederates (except hardcore leaders) only if they took a genuine oath of allegiance to the United States. Regarding President Biya, he has granted amnesty to ALL amba terrorists amid their terrorism and atrocities, even the vilest arch-terrorists who have masterminded and carried out the most depraved acts of terrorism.

US President Andrew Johnson

The South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission of 1995 received more than 7,000 amnesty applications but granted only 1,500 amnesties. President de Klerk refused blanket amnesty even for his own security forces. Imagine that! President Biya’s amnesty does not require applications from amba “SNWL” terrorists (who are not even able to correctly write their names let alone an application for amnesty). Any amba terrorist who drops his gun and goes to a DDR Centre, gets amnesty.

In 2000, the government of President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda passed an Amnesty Act that offered pardons to terrorists who have engaged in acts of rebellion against the government of Uganda since 1986. But to get amnesty, a terrorist had to report to a recognized official, renounce conflict, and surrender any weapon in his/her possession. Not as generous as President Biya’s. President Biya’s amnesty does not require amba “SNWL” terrorists to surrender their weapons at the DDR Centres as a precondition to be accepted.

When the government of Sri Lanka completely defeated the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) terrorists in 2009 (after 26 years of terrorism), former terrorists were required to complete a two-year rehabilitation programme for them to earn and receive general amnesty. President Biya’s amnesty has no mandatory rehabilitation period for amba terrorists to earn and receive amnesty. The simple requirements are just to drop their guns and go and register at a DDR Centre, the amnesty is served on a golden platter. Is that not super generous?

United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Tony Blair was seriously excoriated by the British public when they saw the letters his government sent to known Irish Republican Army (IRA) members (so-called ‘on the runs’) involved in terrorism, assuring them that they won’t face prosecution in the future, amnesty in disguise.  On July 6, 2018, UK Prime Minister Theresa May, rejected her own Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson’s amnesty proposal for IRA terrorists. Prime Minister May’s spokeswoman said “We owe a debt of gratitude to the bravery of the soldiers and police officers who upheld the rule of law and are accountable to it. “We cannot countenance a proposal where amnesties would be provided to terrorists.” The Northern Ireland Secretary of State Karen Bradley said the following “any amnesty for IRA atrocities would be unacceptable”. The people of SWR and the NWR (elites, Ministers, Religious leaders, etc.) have not objected to President Biya granting amnesty to amba terrorists. The terrorised and the directly impacted by the amba terrorism opted for the poorly educated, brainwashed, and diaspora-manipulated amba “Shit-No-Wipe-Lass” terrorists to be granted amnesty.

On October 2, 2016, the people of Columbia rejected a landmark peace deal with FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) terrorists in a referendum. The peace deal signed by President Juan Manuel Santos and FARC leader, was adamantly opposed by the former President, Alvaro Uribe who led a campaign, urging voters to reject the peace deal. According to Mr Uribe, “FARC rebels should pay for the crimes (terrorist atrocities) they have committed and should never be welcomed into society”. President Biya, and the people of the NW and SW Regions of Cameroon could have adopted such a strong stance, but they did not. Although people who have suffered from terrorism tend to loathe seeing those who participated in terrorism given amnesties, the people of SWR and NWR have opened their arms to welcome repentant amba “SNWL” terrorists back into society. Is this gesture of goodwill not enough for the amba “SNWL” terrorists to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to drop their guns and go to the DDR Centres where amnesty is a waiting, a “golden hello?”
